My surprise

Sir Old Man finished up this project for me.  Let's just say that I cried the first time I saw it.

Beautiful wood is curly maple for the drawers and the accent corners and top are cherry.  The frame is made of maple.  The wood was fumed in his home built fuming tent. The finish is natural not a stain.

A side view to show the stacked design of the cabinet drawers.  No sides, just exposed beautiful wood.  The accent trim is actually the runners for the drawer guides.    Note the wheels instead of feet for ease of movement.

Rolled into the sewing room we did a little OT to fill it

It's my thread cabinet now.  Easy access to my favorite threads,  and accessories for Hot Legs--Tiara--- are in the top drawer.
The bottom drawer will hold those extra large spools/cones that I have stashed in a couple of spots.  And I have room to spare for now.  One day I hope to fill it up!
Note those drawer pulls...,,..custom ordered for the detail.  I closed my eyes to the price, said yes.  Just because this beautiful piece deserved  a special touch.

I plan on using this next to Hot Legs to replace one of the side tables.  That will give me easy access to threads and it will be in full view too.    Thank you, Sir Old Man....you are a keeper!

Thank you to everyone for your support and encouragement.  You can't know how much each one means to me.  Every time I have a crying spell, along comes a note from somewhere around the world to raise my spirits.  Each one gives me joy , and that is a good thing.

It is so beautiful! Its simplicity, but gorgeous wood and finish are just amazing. And to think it is functional also? I love the drawer pulls. They remind me of old card catalog drawer pulls from an exquisite library. Praying for your health and endurance. I am almost hobbled up from chronic migraines that are in a real awful cycle now, so I understand the frustration of chronic pain and not being able to do what you want.

What a delightful gift... The wood is lovely... There is something calming about seeing and touching wood. My father was a cabinet maker and the smell of new wood brings him to mind. Every time you see or use this cabinet you will smile...... Still Praying.

Curly Maple was my Dad's favorite wood to work with - he would love this piece. This is just beautiful.

What a beautiful new piece for your studio. I love how he made the runners extend to the accent trim. They remind me of cornerstones on a quilt. Is he stealing some of your quilting techniques? :) Watching his work progress is like watching a beautiful quilt come to life. Then I look back & say, "I can't believe someone can make such an masterpiece from just pieces of wood/fabric". This piece had to brighten your life! Prayers are still being sent for you & your family.

What a gift of love--an artist married to an artist! I also have chronic pain (car accidents) so I understand a bit of what you are going through. Prayers for more good days!

A beautiful piece of wood craftsmen ship. Curly maple is hard to get here. beautiful wood. Burrells make beautiful smaller pieces too.
Still praying for the stint version and hoping the stress of that being over will help some of the muscle tension and that all else can be fixed with therapy.
