Storm update

Thank you to so many for the notes and emails about the hurricane.  We are prepped and have been keeping an eye on updates.  If you have never lived near the coast you may not understand how things change in the forecast.  That is one reason we prepare----rather safe than sorry.
So this morning, it has changed again.....for the worse for us that are inland even.

Hurricane storm track

It appears the storm is expected to take a dip south or even slide south along the coast.  Then it will probably curve north right over our upstate area to North Carolina mountains.  The rains will be our main concern as well as tornadoes.....all this is late Saturday into Sunday.

I saw this post on Facebook just a little while ago.

***HURRICANE FLORENCE***
The Quilts of Compassion Disaster Response TEAM is currently monitoring Hurricane Florence. We are planning a deployment to the area!!! We will have detailed information once landfall has occurred and Tier 1 organizations have responded to assist with immediate needs of food, shelter, clothing and medical attention. Quilts of Compassion is considered a Tier 2 Disaster Response Organization that responds 6-12 weeks to an area AFTER all “basic needs” ha...

.....I will be going thru my extra quilts today to see what I can share.
Happy stitching.

I'm so glad you are ready and I'm praying that Florence weakens more. This is not a good one. Take Care. ~Jeanne

Hope you stay safe. I did hear that it has been downgraded, but, still pretty bad, especially if it just sits there and rains.

I've been watching this storm closely, thinking and concerned about you. I know you'll be as prepared as possible. It's been downgraded but that doesn't help with the amount of water it's bringing. Stay safe.

I saw that you posted this yesterday - I didn't see it until today. I have a link to the Nat'l Weather service Hurricane center that I use. It is a remnant of my work days. The predicted track is different again today.
Stay safe.

You’ve been in my thoughts, and I’ve wondered how you are doing with the storm approaching. Not sure what part of the state you live in. Thanks for the info about Quilts of Compassion. I’ve reposted on Facebook. Take good care and stay safe.

Debbie, I hope and pray you and your family will ride out this storm and suffer no more than heavy rainfall and possibly electrical outages. I suspect there has been a run on generators in all areas in the path of this horrific storm, so stay safe. Hugs

I'm watching the storm closely & praying for your safety. Even though the storm has been downgraded the rain & storm surge & flooding & power outages will still come because it is a very, very slow moving storm. Preparing early is the right thing to do & I know y'all did that last week. Stay safe!

I had emailed a "take care" message to some friends in Greensboro on Tuesday evening, only to discover the change in track taking them out of the cone. That still means rain and wind and probably lost power and downed trees. So now my stay safe message goes to you and Carole and our friends in Asheville.

Colorado is already sending people down to do what they can to help. I have been on hurricane watch so many times, growing up in Florida, and living on the Chesapeake. I wish you calm, and power. It's so hard to be without power.

Hope for the best, prepare for the worst. That's a good strategy! Hang in there, and thanks for the update.
