It's the Great Pumpkin...

We have a Block of the Month  at guild each month.  Enter one for a chance to win all.   This month Sandy gave out a pattern for an applique pumpkin.  Just fusing with the applique stitching to be done by the winner.  This one will be my entry for guild.

But what about one for me......I  love the fall tones and could use a more updated seasonal wall hanging.  I am not into the witches and goblins theme.  .I wanted leaves with my pumpkin, so I looked on EQ7 and found the exact image!   I played around with the shape a bit on this one, just for fun.  A couple more  blocks and I can make that wall hanging work.
Here's  a peek at the final---I think---layout of the color wash.  It grew some more over the last couple of days.  I just had to keep shifting squares around to fit everything in.  It is now 24 rows high by 17 rows wide.  So I will be putting in time on getting it put together.  I think I will cheat a little on assembling the squares.  You know I like quick and easy.
Off to final PT....grinning and happy.
Happy stitching.

  1. The colorwash looks great! I'm glad the kit filled in with your own fabrics so well.

  2. I'm with you on Halloween. Pumpkins and scarecrows are my decorating theme. None of the other stuff. Very nice leaf on your pumpkin block.
The color wash quilt has a beautiful glow to it, but I want to know how you can cheat in putting the blocks together. I'd like to know how to cheat! : )

  3. Final PT? That's wonderful news!

Halloween isn't a big deal in Australia but it's becoming more common. It's spring here at the end of October so not really the season for pumpkins but I think your idea is great.

I will enjoy watching that colour wash come together.

  4. You picked the perfect fabrics for your pumpkins. Those are really going to look good when they are finished.
Your colorwash is beautiful & I want to know how you are planning to put the squares together in a different way. Also, I'd like to know how you normally put them together.

Thank goodness for PT & PTL that the final PT has come. Make your therapist proud today!

  7. Final PT - that has a wonderful ring to it.
Love your pumpkins! especially the second one. Awesome!
And your colorwash is gorgeous! (Did you notice a block of blue on the top left? It might be a weird trick of the camera... I just can't believe how it distorts... My DIL thought I'd sent her a picture of a dark purple, when it was a warm brown....
