Still here......

I'm still here.  I am trying to get thru a lot right now.
I experienced a problem with my vision after our trip to Michigan.  Doctors and hospital tests.....no word on any of it yet.  Was it a stroke or a fluke....who knows but things seem fine with my vision now.   I know something could be lurking, and I will jump over that bridge when/if needed.
The challenge is now numbness in my fingers.....it is hard to do anything.  The numbness came and went while we were gone. That long ride sure did not help.   I have had problems for a couple of years due to tendonitis and that danged pinched nerve in my back.   It could now be compressed, so I have appointment next week with the doctor.   I have dumped the chicken on the floor, dropped most everything I touch, and am afraid I will slice a finger if I use the rotary cutter.   Typing is a challenge.....so I probably won't post or comment much until things improve.   I managed to clean my sewing machine and change the thread but sewing is another story.

I am way behind on my circles....but did get some re-arranged on the design wall.  I want to add another column in the center I think before I change my mind again.  I am trying to stick to birds, blooms, and fabrics from friends in this combination.  And I have not decided on a border or not.

And that's where I am.  Hoping things improve soon......happy stitching :)

  2. Praying for you, Debbie! As one who suffers from chronic migraines that strike at anytime and neck pain issues, I can empathize, even if I don't understand. Just keep trying to do little things. Baby steps.

  5. Дебби, очень печально, что вы заболели. Выздоравливайте. А блоки с кругами ещё успеете дошить. Кстати очень интересный проект. Одеяло из настроения.

  7. I hope this all passes soon and you can get back to doing all the things you love. Have had the hand/finger numbness issues off and on for several years with no apparent reason for them. Take care my friend, you're in many prayers today.

  9. Well this isn't good, I wish you could get to the doctor sooner. I have something weird for you to think about, I have sciatica and when it starts getting bad I hang upside down on an inversion table, I'm not sure if it would help with compression but think about it. Some stores will let you try them out, don't where a skirt and make sure your shirt is tucked in, :)

  10. Good morning Debbie....So sorry to hear of your current problems and hope they get resolved soon. Our youngest son (55) just had neck surgery at Northwestern for what sounds like the same problem you are having. He wasn't able to work and walked with great difficulty, having the same problem with dropping things. He walked like a wind up toy and sitting was also very painful. Since he has had a pancreatic transplant in the past, his team at Northwestern felt it was best to let them do the surgery. He spent some time after surgery in a Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago for more therapy and is doing very well. He came home yesterday and we are going to visit him this morning. We thank God every day, along with the neurosurgeon who did the delicate surgery on the front and back of his neck for the miraculous outcome of the procedure. He still has to go to outpatient therapy, but the numbness and ability to walk normally is vastly improved. I will keep you in my prayers and hope you are able to achieve the same results he did. Hugs

  11. Oh my...so sorry about those worrisome symptoms. My father went through a bout of dropping things, and his turned out to be nothing more sinister than carpal tunnel. I hope yours turns out to be equally benign. Your circles are looking great. Take good care of yourself, and we'll all be waiting here til you get back.

As others have said, no need to reply. Just take care of yourself.
Have to add, I have tried those inversion things in stores and rather liked it. I have a bulging disk and have wondered if it might help.

  17. So sorry you are having health issues. And yes, maybe the sharps need a rest for a bit. The hot and heavy iron, too. I'm looking forward to your 'all is well' post. In the meantime, you are in my thoughts and prayers. (No reply necessary.)
