 Hi All -

thank you to all the friends my mom has made while she has been writing her blog & her years quilting.

Thank for the support & prayers.

This morning at 10.43am my mom passed away from the cancer that took over quickly.  She was surrounded by me (Daughter), Sir Old man & her brother.

She will be missed & I know she influenced many of you to experiment & take chances with your quilting.  Keep doing that in her honor.

Thank you again.

Deana

  2. I am heartbroken to hear this. Debbie endured so much in the last couple years . She was my watercolor/colorwash buddy through the blog and many emails back and forth. She brightened the world and I know was loved by so many people who interacted with her through her quilt art. Love to the family, and peace.

  4. Debbie was one of the best. She always had a moment to drop me a line and explain quilty things. I am so grateful for the times and ideas she so freely shared. She was certainly courageous and persevering through such tough, tough times with her health. I will always miss her. Her family meant so much to her.

  11. Such sad news and I left a message on Caring Bridge, but here is where I first met Debbie with her caring spirit and of course her beautiful watercolour quilts. We also exchanged emails often after she first had the Vitamin B issues and her illness since then. I will miss her terribly.

  17. I'm so very, very sorry for the loss of Debbie. She was my inspiration & helper when I needed it the most. She was a master when it came to watercolor quilts & I have a cherished piece from her that she sent to me in appreciation of my support of the Get Your Mrs. Claus on doll quilt project that lasted about 5 years. We bonded during that time & it was such a fun & rewarding venture. I will miss Debbie so much but have been blessed by her kindness & love from just knowing here through the internet.

  21. ohhhh I am so sad. Debbie was so encouraging as an artist and so talented. Hers was one of the first blogs I got by email so I kept up with her creations and watched her artistic journey. Thank you thank you for letting us know, for realizing that we may be far in distance but we were friends. Love, Lee Anna (at not afraid of color)

  24. My heart aches for you. Your Mom helped so many of us explore different ways of looking at fabric and design. She was a true warrior through her struggles. I'm sorry to see her go but I knowing she is out of pain should give you some comfort. There are many beautiful quilts out there that your Mom helped create. Warm hugs to you all.

  25. I'm so sorry for your loss and sending my sincere condolences to family and friends.

It was only a short time ago that I discovered Debbie by chance - the header on her blog caught my eye and just had to try. It worked so well - still need to quilt it though! I posted on the Quiltville Facebook page and gave credit to Debbie - and then was able to chat/text briefly to thank her when she said that's me! A truly inspirational lady.

    Much hugs to you all,

  26. Debbie will be missed. We've communicated thru our blogs and by email over the years. We both prayed for each other, thru difficulties. I know that she is with Jesus now, and that is a comfort. I'll continue to pray for Debbie's family, especially Sir Old Man. I loved to show his woodworking items to my husband (who also loves woodworking).
