Update for mid August

I never thought I could slip so far back. A week ago I began with a fever and cough. Now it is full bore pneumonia and it is pushing me so far down. SirOld Man made the mistake of dating the "h" word and I went crazy   Not going back to that place.

   So I am dosed with antibiotics  and nursing friends check on me.  Expect home health to begin today.   I've lost strength and coordination  so the road got longer ahead of me.   Just wanted to say thanks once again for all the emotional support from blog land.
Keep on stitching.

  4. Keeping you in my prayers, Debbie. I don't like hospitals, either, but if that's where you really need to be, then don't put up too much of a fight. We want you well and feeling better again.

  9. Debbie I'm so very sorry to hear that pneumonia has hit you, your body will be at such a low ebb that infection creeps up pretty quickly. Keep taking the meds, that's all you can do presently and rest. Go with what the health professionals think is the best for you. God Bless.

  12. Dearest Debbie, I can't believe that you are so sick again, but your immune system is so severely taxed, that it doesn't have the strength to fight it off. You might think I'm crazy, but you should limit the number of visitors you have, or at least hand out masks and hand sanitizer at the door to protect you from further infections. We will all continue to pray the the nursing and meds do their job and get you back on Recovery Road quickly. Hugs and best wishes for a speedy recovery.

  14. So sorry about the setback. They're so discouraging, as I unfortunately know from experience. Just keep plugging away at it, and the minute you even think you're getting sick, go to the doctor! A total pain, but worth it in the long run. Jadahlgr at Yahoo dot Com

  20. I was so sad to hear of the new hurdle in your recovery. I hear that pneumonia can be very draining on a person & that rest is imperative to healing from it. Please let Sir Old Man do what is best for you and I will keep praying from this side of the computer for a full recovery. {{{HUGS}}}

  21. I've had pneumonia twice. The best help for me was taking a drug called Tessalon. One or two and the cough is gone. Finally you can get some sleep. If you aren't taking this, ask your doctor for some.
    Blessings on you and Sir Old Man.

  22. Well shoot! This is frustrating. I agree with the comment above about hand sanitizer and protecting yourself, you're just to weakened to fight off anything. I hope the home health people are good and can keep this from being too much of a set back. Try not to get too discouraged, I know it's hard, we're all rooting for you. Tell Sir Old Man we're rooting for him too.

  23. Oh no! You have been thru the wringer, my friend. Thank you for the update. Continued prayers for you & Sir Old Man. But please please please, do not fight going to the hospital! If that's where you need to be to get well, please go. I know you hate it there, but they can take care of you. I am sorry to tell you what you don't want to hear, but truly, pneumonia is nothing to mess with. I recently lost a friend to it and my dil's brother passed from it 5 months ago and he was only 23. It is not to be messed with. I'm just concerned and pray for the best for you both.

  24. Oh my dear, this is exactly what happened to me.. endarterectomy and very slow recovery and then coughing and feeling really bad and it was pneumonia, and I could not believe it. It seemed like every step forward then slid two steps backward. It was the Lord trying to teach me patience and gratitude. ... a lesson I did not think I needed to learn, but obviously I do. I am sure you are concentrating on the positive. Getting through the endarterectomy with no cognitive loss is a big one, and all the other stuff will improve in time, just not on our timetable. Sending you so much healing energy and love as you navigate these big bumps in the road to recovery. It will get better.. today I realized my neck is not as numb as it has been since surgery last September. I had given up on that ever happening... so anything is possible.
