Small projects are a sign of summer for me.....it is almost too hot to do anything else. A good time to make a few gifts up for later.....like these chicken placemats! This chicken is so funky, who wouldn't like him. Check him out here.
Check out this beautiful combination of colors.
Once again, visit Quilt Kisses to get the details......and see the table runner. The quilt is actually the leftovers from the table runner!
OK, inspiration given.....hope you find something to play with. As always, please visit the links for details and pinning.
I spent the last two days machine quilting --in between other things --- the off-set quarter/half log cabin. A small portion of the border is left to get it finished. I had a terrible time with the tension when I started.....and Sir Old Man came up with a probable reason that I had not considered. Humidity! He suggested I change the bobbin for a new one......new bobbin and problem solved! Whether it was the humidity or not, I got production going.
Enjoy your weekend and happy stitching.

That chicken is pretty good lookin'! : )
Never would have considered humidity as a cause of tension problems. Of course, it isn't something we deal with much here in the high mountain desert climate. But if we are having a humid day and I have tension problems, I hope I remember this.
Anxious to see your quilting!
Interesting that the bobbin change fixed it, my machine died this afternoon, changing the bobbin didn't do anything, LOL. I like that quilt from Quilt Kisses, I've seen that style on pinterest, but her colors are really nice.
Thread tension issues can be so aggravating! It would never have occurred to me that humidity could be the culprit.
Debbie I love the idea of the design on a suitcase - it's so awful standing in the airport looking for a black suitcase among everyone else's black suitcases! And even when I tie a ribbon on the handle I sometimes can't see it if they've loaded it backwards. I think I'll "doodle" on both sides and then I can't miss it. :) And the chicken is adorable! blessings, marlene
Thanks for the feature again. :) I wonder how many people noticed the quilt was an afterthought.
