New addition

My small gallery

I have a small gallery in the office where I display all types of artwork, from cards, to sketches, to photos.

And the mail bought a new addition yesterday.  Gene has been sharing his experimenting with watercolor painting recently.  He wasn't happy with one of his first attempts.....but I was!  I loved it.  So this wonderful artist sent me his practice piece to have and enjoy!

I have to search for another small easel for displaying it.  So, thanks, Gene, I am so pleased to have it.

This is new Blogger post....isn't it awful to control?

Have a great stitching day anyway!

How thoughtful of Gene! I think it is beautiful, and how appropriate for the maker of watercolor quilts.
Yes, new blogger can be a bear and I know more than one blogger considering switching to another platform or dropping blogging altogether.

What a sweet little sketch/watercolor. So perfect for you!

That is beautiful and so nice of him! One of my sister's has been a watercolor painter her entire life (art degree). I love getting her homemade Christmas cards!
And yes, the Blogger issues are annoying! Just when I think I have the font size all uniform, I glance at the blog and UGH, all shapes and sizes. Sheesh. And inserting pictures? That's a whole other set of frustration.

Beautiful little water colour, lucky your! New blogger - I still can't figure out how to ditch the double spacing, I reverted once again to the old setup for my last post but I must try harder with the new!
I seem to be OK with the photos, that's about it.

Gene's card is beautiful! I love the shading on the flowers. I'm having a horrid time with the new blogger. It took me an hour today to get photos into a post - they came in upside down and sideway??! And I haven't figured out how to fix the spacing or to get all of the text to change size. It's just not user friendly to this user. ~Jeanne

I think Gene is too critical of his work - I found his pieces all wonderful. How lovely to have this gifted to you - a treasure for sure.

That was so sweet of him to share his artwork with you.

What a beautiful piece of art that Gene gifted you. Lucky you that he wasn't happy with the results of his piece. I think it's absolutely gorgeous. I love everything about it. You are getting quite a collection in your little gallery.
Hope your day is a good one.

I suppose it's the same with quilters - I did a bit wrong here and that corner didn't quite match up etc. I can't see anything wrong with it and it is such a pretty painting. Well done Gene.

Thanks for sharing this, Debbie. I am glad to see it is joining some very nice artwork. I want to see the one it is sitting in front of.

How lovely! This piece will always remind you of wonderful things: spring flowers and Gene's friendship. Win-win :)

That is a lovely piece. I’ve been using the new Blogger for a couple of months now, and I’m used to it. I wish certain old features still worked as before, but I’m managing it. Recently they changed (again) the way one enlarges photos. Sometimes you just have to dink around trying things to find what you’re looking for.

Gene's watercolor is lovely. I think all artists are too critical of their own work in whatever media. Sorry blogger is giving you fits. Lots of other people are having trouble, too, but Google doesn't seem to care.

Nice artwork from Gene. I've found (so far) that I can revert to the classic blogger when I start a blog post. I've heard that blogger is getting lots of complaints about the new format, so they might be delaying forcing it on us. We'll see.
