Why do I do this?

I have to laugh or else I would cry all day.  My plan was to clear out the fabric bins and stuff on the floor of the fabric closet today.  Plan made.  And then I went to guild meeting last night.  I took a small bag of items to Pat for the guild boutique  at the quilt show in the fall.  I returned home with...............

Seven Fat Quarters!  It was vendor night at guild and I get out so rarely.  Or that was my excuse.  I won't even think about putting them into the closet yet!

And a pre-printed project to finish for the guild boutique too.  The panels and backing with polyester batt----not sure about that---needs to be finished up.  It is suppose to be done as a door hanging, raw edged and dimensional.   I may turn it into a nicer banner.  The two smaller pieces will make up as cute mug rugs, or maybe a table runner.   They are having workdays once a month to make items to sell.  I don't have the stamina for a day long event, so I brought one home.    LOL, like I have nothing else to do!  But I have a few months to do this, so I should quit whining.

Then Sarge, our VP, announced Diane Knott would be here next month for lecture and workshop.   She has a new book out....should be good.
Anyway, I am off to clear the closet floor area at least.  And answer text from Cousin Diane.....happy stitching.

It is hard to be in a guild atmosphere and not get caught up in all that is going on--even when you know your limitations, whether they be time, stamina, or both.
I'm sure you will come up with something attractive out of the panel and little pumpkins.

It only makes sense to take advantage of fabric offerings to give you good variety for your projects. I think you NEEDED the fabric.

We always need to pick up new projects, no matter how many we already have waiting their turn to be done. Have fun with your new FQ's.

Now tell me, what quilter would not have grabbed those pretty fat quarters? Hope you have fun with the pumpkin projects. ---"Love"

I'm the same way. We have so few brick and mortar quilt shops within easy access, that whenever I find myself at one I indulge despite my best intentions. You'll enjoy your new acquisitions.

Those FQs are beautiful and you know you needed them! The other projects will hopefully work up quickly and you can get back to doing what you love best.

Of course you "needed" the FQs. They are a spirit booster and you need to feed your soul.

Only seven fat quarters? I think it's smart to bring things home now, they're not stored and you don't have to move them out, LOL. Yes, I am an enabler.

Beautiful low volume prints like that are hard to find! You were simply being practical to snap them up as soon as you saw them. Very smart!

Don't even get me started on all the fabric in my stash that I wasn't going to buy. Life is short. Buy the fabric.

Quilters are always befuddled by the fact that no matter how much stash they use it seems to multiply. Now I see why that is....give away a few items....bring home more than you gave away. :) Something tells me you will put those fat quarters to good use.
