The daisy trim one on the left turned out so pretty. The rose motif was from a bridal lace I was given. And the one on the bottom features a section of a lace collar for a young girl's dress.
I have more to fill and finish up but this morning was devoted to clearing off table tops in the sewing room. Stacks of bits and pieces to put away, but all is now cleared and sorted.
The heat is relentless and the humidity is thick and heavy. Much too hot to even sit outside.
Sir Old Man came home with a surprise after a trip to Ace Hardware. We added it--- small flag with a special symbol---to the back walk by the Japanese Maple. It's like the one shady spot near the house and can be seen from the back patio.

I love the sentiment on the flag, not to mention your newest pincushions! You're on a roll with these, and I can see how they would be very addicting, with all the pretty bits you're adding to the scraps. Hot and humid everywhere it seems, although we've been having T-storms roll through every couple days, so at least the garden is being watered!

Your pincushions are darling! Do you mind sharing what you are using for the fill? I have a friend that would probably drive 3 days if she could talk you out of that little flag. The pincushions are really neat. I love pins of all kinds and they all need their own pincushion otherwise it is pin chaos.
I have a cardinal flag in my garden, too. And very nicely I have two pair of cardinals fledging in the side Maple and visit the feeder thru the day. I do love these pin cushions and plan on introducing the idea to our guild program committee as a group project/exchange.
Yes, pincushions are a great small project to allow for exploration.

Oh so pretty pin cushions. I am rather drawn to the daisy chain. A happy flag to see from the window too. Such beautiful birdies. I have seen some whilst on holiday and visiting my Canadian relations. They take your breath away, the colour so intense.

Your garden flag is so pretty---Sir Old Man did good on that one! We generally have cardinals every morning & evening that come for their feed. You are doing great on those little pin cushions. They are so elegant & delicate looking. It's always nice to have small projects that you can work on that don't take up a lot of time. Try to stay cool & keep safe.

Nice to have some small projects to work on when it's too hot to tackle larger quilts. We have a cardinal pair and one day I got to watch a little mating dance between them. Our super hot weather has retreated for a few days, but due back for the weekend.
